How It Works

Two versions of Mail Markup are available - Office and Pro. Each provides a different way to apply OMR marks and 2D barcodes to mail pieces.

  2. Select the Mail Markup printer driver in the application's print dialog.
  3. Configure mail piece detection and OMR or 2D barcode settings. Alternatively, select an existing configuration then preview the results in the interface.
  4. Use any printer driver installed in Windows to output your document that now contains OMR marks or a 2D barcode.

  • Use Windows Explorer or any other file management application to copy then paste PDF documents containing mail pieces into the input folder. Alternatively, PDF documents can be directly saved in the input folder by your own applications.
  • When the Mail Markup Pro service detects a PDF document, it automatically detects the mail pieces it contains, adds a digital insert to each one (if configured to do so) then applies OMR marks or a 2D barcode to applicable pages.
  • The PDF document is then printed or written to file.
Integrating with your Own Applications

A command line is provided to enable your own applications to seamlessly benefit from the functionality of Mail Markup Pro...

  • The Mail Markup Pro command line executable is called by your application. Appended to the call is the file name of an XML file containing digital insert, mail piece detection, OMR or 2D barcode and output instructions, together with the path and filename of a PDF document.
  • The Mail Markup Pro service detects the mail pieces contained in the PDF document, adds a digital insert to each one (if configured to do so) then applies OMR marks or a 2D barcode to applicable pages.
  • The PDF document is then printed or written to file.
